Rick Charles

Born in India, in the southern state of Madras, on 12 March 1965, Adelerick Charles Hogg was the youngest of ten children In early 1968 he migrated to Melbourne, Australia, with his parents Malcolm and Violet along with his seven sisters and two brothers.At the age of seven, Adelerick received his first acoustic guitar as a Christmas gift from his parents. After learning a few basic chords from his older brother, he began his journey toward mastering the instrument.

Throughout his primary school years, he regularly performed for classmates and won first prize — a candy bar — at a school camp talent quest. That moment sparked his lifelong passion for singing and entertaining

During high school, Adelerick expanded his musical talents by mastering the alto saxophone and performing with the school orchestra. After completing his schooling in 1981, his dream of becoming an entertainer continued to grow stronger. However, his father was concerned about the challenges of succeeding in the entertainment industry.

Wanting to respect his father’s wishes, Adelerick undertook an apprenticeship in the printing industry. Upon completing his qualifications, he once again approached his father about pursuing a career in entertainment. With a trade behind him, his father gave him his full support to follow his dreams.

In 1985, Adelerick adopted the stage name Ricky Charles. Then, in 1989, he was discovered by Adam Dion and Nina Randall of Casino Promotions. The company later shortened his name to Rick Charles and placed him in numerous successful stage productions both nationally and internationally, as well as appearances across television, radio, and media.

In 2004, Rick left Casino Promotions to establish his own production company, “A C Hogg Productions.”

From winning a simple candy bar at a school talent quest to building a successful entertainment career, Rick Charles has remained guided by his strong Christian faith and unwavering passion for performing. To this day, he continues to captivate audiences and fans with his music, energy, and dedication to entertainment.
